Homeware | Fun and Festive Gifts from Uncommon Goods

And so Christmas storms the blogosphere, with every post you see being full of festive spirit! Not one to miss out on such a thing, I thought I'd write today's post on a gift company from the USA called Uncommon Goods. Gathering artists and designers from all around the USA, they recently started shipping to the UK too and have some really lovely and quirky gifts on offer that would be perfect for a loved one this Christmas!

Founded in 1999, UncommonGoods was inspired by a visit to a craft show, sparking a vision to create an online marketplace to connect creators and customers regardless of physical distance. The company also aims to be as environmentally sustainable as can be. One thing that struck me as having a really lovely community feel to it was that you can read a little about the individual sellers' stories, which feels a lot less like buying from strangers!

Food Huggers
One designer offers circular food huggers and avocado-shaped huggers, which are silicone casing you can put round the cut end of a piece of fruit, for example. It's great to save money (and the environment) on things such as cling film or plastic bags and actually keeps your food fresher for longer. Failing that, it makes for a cute and quirky gift for the avocado fan in your life, and I know that my avocado-loving housemate would love one!

Literary Candles
This product comes in 4 different scents, and I especially like the look of 221B Baker Street, with a 'blackcurrant and book leather' scent that sounds absolutely gorgeous!

Umbrella Tea Infuser With Stand
This is just so cute and very practically made too with its little stand. It would make a really wonderful present for a tea-lover (of which I know many). As I'm sure my mum would love a gift like this but this isn't currently available to ship outside of the US, here are plenty more gifts for mothers from Uncommon Goods!

Banned Books Morph Mug
This changes when hot liquid is poured into in (those kind of mugs are always fun!) and displays a list of books that have been banned at some point in history - including two favourites of mine To Kill a Mockingbird and The Great Gatsby, not sure what that says about my taste in books!

Beyond all these gifts, they also have lots of lovely artwork, jewellery, candles and much more that you can click here to take a look at.

What is your favourite gift in this post? Let me know in the comments!
