Travel/Fashion | Holiday Lookbook: Devon, UK

Hello all!
I have recently returned from a week's holiday in Devon with my family. We rented a quaint holiday cottage in the village of Trusham, near Newton Abbot and Exeter. Although nothing glamorous, it was a lovely and relaxing way to spend my last week before A-Level results day (which will be the day this post goes live).
As I haven't yet written any outfit posts in the short life of this blog, I figured that as well as telling you about my travels, this would be a great opportunity for a Lookbook too. Hope you enjoy!

Aside from Day 1, each day features the following make-up products:
Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in Superblack (for tightline)
Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara in Superjet Black
SEVENTEEN Brow Sculpting Pencil
Any additional makeup products are listed for that day.

Day 1: Arrivals
Shirt - Miss Selfridge
Jacket - Marks & Spencer
Jeans - Next
Shoes - Converse
As Day 1 meant in-car naps and boring motorways, I opted for a comfortable outfit and no makeup. The jacket, which will be making a lot of appearances in this post, has been a wardrobe staple of mine for so long that it’s actually from the M&S kids range! After all these years, it still fits well and makes a stylish addition to so many outfits.
Upon arrival, we spent some time in Dawlish before heading to the holiday cottage. Tucked away behind quiet, winding country lanes, there was something soothing about being so far away from the bustling city vibe I’m used to.

Day 2: Teignmouth
Trousers - Zara
Jacket - Rokit Vintage
Vest Top - New Look
Bag - J by Jasper Conran @ Debenhams
Shoes - Mantaray @ Debenhams
Elephant Necklace - Accessorize
Bracelet - Handmade
Found in the sales, these trousers are actually my first purchase from Zara. I’m very impressed by them, loving their stylish and fun print and how very comfortable they are! I paired them with a vest top that matches the pink flowers, and my vintage denim jacket that I got from Rokit – who have London stores on Brick Lane, Camden High Street and in the Covent Garden District.
Teignmouth was lovely to visit, a coastal town boasting beautiful scenery, a number of independent stores and a vibrant seafront. I also recommend the Beachcomber Café for drinks, snacks and meals.

Day 3: Paignton Zoo*
*DISCLAIMER: After thorough research, I found Paignton Zoo’s top priorities to be with animal welfare and conservation. I would not visit a zoo that I didn't consider to have its animals’ best interests at heart.
Kimono - Miss Selfridge
Dress - Topshop
15 Denier Tights in Natural Tan - Primark
Shoes - Converse
Bracelets - Thomas Sabo Charm Club
Ring - Pandora
With its light fabric, this kimono is a joy to wear in Summer. I gave it a casual look with a navy dress and navy Converse to complement the blue in the print.

Paignton Zoo is well worth the admission fee and takes a good few hours to see everything. I also felt the zoo displayed a great ethos, with much of its profits from admission and the gift shop going towards animal conservation, as well as the zoo educating and raising awareness regarding endangered species.

Day 4: Shaldon
Blouse - Topshop
Shorts - Topshop
Shoes - Mantaray @ Debenhams
Jacket - Marks & Spencer
40 Denier Tights in Black - Primark
Charm Bracelet - Thomas Sabo Charm Club
Earrings - Silver by Mail
Necklace - Fiorelli @ H Samuel
I decided to be daring with this outfit and pair pink with green. I certainly felt it payed off as I love how it turned out! On this windy day, I opted for black tights to keep my legs a little warmer (although I did pack some beige socks to swap them with in hope of some more sunshine!)
Across the water from Teignmouth, Shaldon is another beautiful seaside town. I particularly loved the look of the houses, painted a range of colours from pastels to brights.

Day 5: Windy Dawlish Warren, Rainy Exeter
Skirt - New Look
Top - Primark
Shoes - Converse
Jacket - Marks & Spencer
40 Denier Tights in Black - Primark
Earrings - Accessorize
Turtle Necklace - Accessorize
After a windy morning nostalgically visiting the Dawlish Warren I remember so well from my childhood, we headed off to Exeter for a spot of shopping. It did then rain, hence the day's photo was taken when we got back to the cottage. There will be a haul post coming up soon so I won't give anything more away!

Day 6: Canonteign Falls
Skirt - Topshop
Scoop Neck Stretch Vest - Primark
Jacket - Marks & Spencer
Shoes - Mantaray @ Debenhams
Elephant Necklace - Accessorize
Earrings - Accessorize
Bracelet - Handmade
Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in Superblack (for tightline and upper lid)
I bought this skirt last November in Topshop’s sale, finding its reduction from £38 to £7 (£6.30 after student discount) too good to miss! The skirt has 2 vertical slits at the front, coming to just above knee-length, adding a little more swish. I love the bright print of this skirt and am so pleased at how it looks with the matching vest and my trusty jacket.
Canonteign Falls is a beautiful set of waterfalls and lakes that cost £7.50 to explore. This might seem audacious but I felt it was well worth it. The walk to the top is tiring but you are rewarded with all sorts of stunning views.

Day 7: A Second Way To Wear
Trousers - Zara
Vest Top - New Look
Jacket - Marks & Spencer
Shoes - Mantaray @ Debenhams
Necklace - Fiorelli @ H Samuel
Bracelets - Thomas Sabo Charm Club
Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in Sable Brown (for waterline and upper lid)
For the last day of my holiday, due to the weather I decided to rework a previous outfit, giving my beloved Zara trousers a more sophisticated look. I switched the pink vest for a more subtle colour and the denim jacket for a smart blazer. I love how just small changes can alter the style of an outfit completely!
On our last day on holiday, we visited Dawlish (seen in the background above) and Teignmouth again before saying a final goodbye to the holiday cottage.

I hope you enjoyed my first ever Lookbook (and apologies for such a long post!) Please feel free to comment below on your favourite outfit and your favourite holiday destinations!

P.S. Special thanks to my mum for being my fashion photographer for the week!
