Life | A Month in Review / Instagram Round-Up

Hello all! Firstly, huge apologies for being so inactive this past month - both here and on Twitter. It's been a very busy past month with university deadlines and whatnot so I'm very sorry to have pretty much missed out on my first 'Blogmas' and to have skipped so many of my Monday postings. On Friday evening, I returned to Leicester for the Christmas holidays so I decided that today's post would be a perfect time for a recap of what I've been up to since I last posted back in late November.

Fashion | Haul: Vintage By The Kilo

As a history student and fashion blogger, the idea of vintage clothing has long appealed to me. Each item has its own personal story and the trends of years gone by have always intrigued my interest in cultural history. So when A New Shop on Division Street in Sheffield announced a 'vintage by the kilo' sale, who was I to refuse? I can't resist a bargain, and at £15 per kilogram, there certainly were bargains to be had. So without further ado - here comes a haul post!

Beauty | The Lipstick Tag

Hello all! One thing I love reading on people's blogs is a lipstick-related post. So, after impulse-buying four lipsticks last week (they were on offer, okay?), I decided it was time for another lipstick post here on Life In Florals. So without further ado, I give you The Lipstick Tag!

Fashion | 3 Ways To Wear: Nomads Velvet Dress

Hello all! Recently I got the chance to work with Nomads Clothing. Nomads are a fairtrade clothing company dedicated to providing ethical and comfortable fashion for women. Upon receiving my free velvet dress* (RRP £75) from their site, I was very impressed by the quality of the product as well as the versatility of its design. Here are my three favourite ways to wear it.

Beauty | Brand Focus: Lush

We bloggers are notoriously obsessed with Lush products, as they are (if you'll pardon the pun) rather lush. As a bit of a Lush newbie, I haven't tried all that many of their products yet, but I have been very impressed with what I have tried. As a result, this post will not only feature my favourite Lush products, but also some of my favourite beauty products overall.

Entertainment | Playlist: Songs I'm Loving Right Now

Hello all.
Firstly, I'm so sorry I didn't post last week! I had my first ever university essay due and no time to sit down and blog. Secondly, even more apologies for being so inactive on social media. I'm still getting used to keeping on top of everything at university - studying, socialising, food shopping, cooking, etc. - so until I figure myself out on that front, social media is taking a bit of a backseat.

But on with the post! This week I've decided to do something new, and give you all a playlist. You've heard about my favourite products, and seen some of my favourite outfit ideas, but I've scarcely spoken about music beyond musicals and Disney. So here, in no particular order, are some songs I'm loving right now.

A 19th Birthday Haul!

At the end of September (the very last day, in fact), it was my birthday! I, very scarily, turned nineteen and luckily my birthday was on a Wednesday, a day when I have no lectures or seminars scheduled - giving me plenty of time to see who my family who came up from Leicester to see me.
And one great thing about blogger birthdays is of course, haul posts!

Beauty | Pins I Love #5: Hair & Beauty

First of all, let me just apologise for the lack of posting on Thursday. It was the day after my birthday (haul post coming soon) and I was hugely busy with that and the first academic week of university. For the near future, I will be moving down to one blog post a week. After getting into a more solid routine at university, I may move back up to two but I will let you all know! Posts from now on will be published at noon every Monday.

When it comes to hair and makeup, I'm not all that creative. I love reviewing the products I do use but I don't have much to offer the world of blogging in terms of hair and makeup tutorials (so if anyone wants to guest post any please feel free to get in touch!). But I do love and envy some of the makeup looks and hairstyles I see on Pinterest. Here are a few of my favourites.

Life | Student Life: 5 Things To Be During Freshers Week

Hello! Firstly, those of you following me on social media might have noticed I've been a little bit off the radar recently. I've been extremely busy this past week, for one good reason - Freshers Week! And although this post comes a tiny bit late for most first-years and rather early for next year's freshers, I thought there was no time like the present to blog about my experiences of Freshers Week and how I think you can get the most out of it.

Entertainment | Once Upon A Time Tag

If you've spoken to me on any Twitter chat that involves discussing TV shows, you'll know I love Once Upon A Time. With the fifth season starting in a few days, I decided it was a good time to do the 'Once Upon A Time Tag'. I'm super excited for season 5, as it's looking like it'll be the best one yet! So without further ado...*
*This blog post will contain spoilers for seasons 1-4 of Once Upon A Time.

Homeware | Room Tour!

Hello! First of all, apologies in advance if this post ends up sounding a little rushed. I'm super busy right now with Freshers Week getting into full swing so I've just been blogging as and when I get the chance. I also apologise for the quality of some of these photos as I haven't quite got the hang of the lighting in my new flat yet.
Well, enough excuse-making, let's begin!

Two days ago (Saturday 19th September) I moved to Sheffield to attend the University of Sheffield! I'm staying in some lovely accommodation near the city centre and the university campus, with four of us sharing a kitchen/living room. It took a lot of decorative work to make my room feel a bit more homely but I'm pretty proud of how it's turned out so thought I'd give you all a peek.*
*This post will be very photo-heavy!

Fashion | Pins I Love #4: Accessories

One of my favourite posts to do, if you hadn't guessed already, is Pins I Love. They're fun to write and very convenient too. So as I work my way through my pinterest boards, here's the fourth instalment. This time, it's all about accessories.

Entertainment | Musical Theatre Tag

Many friends of mine, if asked how Paris feels about musicals, will probably roll their eyes and remember the countless times that I've turned everything they've ever said into some sort of musical reference. And that's me just getting started with musicals. I've always enjoyed them, but recently that love of musical theatre has gone up a notch, and I'm in the fun process of trying to discover even more of them. I'm really excited about doing this tag so, "Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please"*...
*Sweeney Todd - "Pirelli's Miracle Elixir" and "God, That's Good!"

Stationery Haul

With me starting my first year of university very soon, I happily embraced the opportunity to get myself some cute and practical stationery, and expand my existing stash of cute and practical stationery. I thought I'd talk you through what I've been buying recently, and the rest of my stash will likely make an appearance in the flat tour post I'll be doing in a few weeks.

Money | The Waterstones Card

Novels pictured: The Golem & The Djinni - Helene Wecker, The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas - John Boyne, The Tales of Beedle the Bard - J.K. Rowling

Continuing on from my review of The Body Shop's loyalty card, I decided next to review that of Waterstones, as part of my loyalty card review series. This card has been a vital addition to my purse for a few years now and I think it's a great loyalty card to have, both for points and for other perks.

Fashion | How I Wore: Luxêmme Lilou Jumpsuit

Hello all! With Freshers Week fast approaching, I noticed rather a gap in my wardrobe. That is, a lack of 'night out' outfits. So I was delighted when Luxêmme approached me and offered me 90% off one item in exchange for a review*.

Fashion | Pins I Love #3: Outfits & Shoes

Hello everyone! Welcome to the third instalment of Pins I Love. I love showing you all the outfits I love most, whether they be my own or inspiration from someone else. So for this post, I've sorted through all my favourite 'pinspiring' outfits and shoes.

Eight Apps & Websites You Need In Your Life

In an age of smartphones, there's an app for pretty much everything. In a lot of cases, there are apps for things you didn't even know you needed an app for. The same can often be said for websites as with not everyone owning a smartphone, the world wide web is far more accessible.

Money | The NEW Body Shop Reward Scheme

A few weeks ago, I posted a review of The Body Shop's reward card. Not long after, the company completely revamped the card - making my post rather redundant. So, after my trip to London last weekend when I tried out the new card, I decided to post an update on my old review.

September Wish List

After last Saturday's What's In My Sidebar? post went through a whole host of products I love (particularly beauty ones), I figure it substitutes this month's monthly favourites. So, as my birthday is at the end of September, I decided now would be a good time to write up a wish list. It features all sorts of things that I really don't need but if I can't be frivolous on my birthday then when can I be?

What's In My Sidebar?

A bit of a different post today, but as a few days ago I added some photo buttons to my sidebar for each posting category, I decided to do a post on the items featured in these photos for anyone interested. Whilst I mostly chose these items based on how good they'd look in the photos, some really great products have ended up making an appearance.

Homeware | Home Fragrance: Owlchemy and Heart & Home

In a very early post, I spoke of my love for Yankee Candles. At the time, they were the only home fragrance products I'd ever really used, and something I completely swore by. But through an Owlchemy giveaway on Water Painted Dreams Blog and a subsequent Heart & Home purchase, I discovered wax melts.

Fashion | Pins I Love #2: More Fashion

Hello all, I'm back with a second instalment of Pins I Love. After filtering through the 648 pins I had dedicated to dresses and skirts in the previous post, it's time to filter through even more fashion boards. This post will consist of trousers, tops, coats, and all their variants!

Food | Baker Days Letterbox Cake: Review & Giveaway

In our busy lives, sometimes we need to treat ourselves and others. So when Baker Days got in touch about reviewing their Letterbox Cake here on Life In Florals, I was delighted. Delighted not only at the prospect of free cake*, but also at what I found on their website. The company offer a huge range of cakes for every occasion - birthdays, christenings, engagements, you name it.
What really struck me though were the Say It With A Cake and Love & Friendship categories. I love how they open up the potential to set a trend of buying people cakes 'just because'. Letting cakes be something to show people you appreciate their friendship, as well as being for specifically special occasions.

A Collection of Hauls

Hello all! If you read my recent Travel Diary, you'll have seen my promise of an Exeter haul post. I decided to expand this and add some more purchases, both from elsewhere in Devon and from my home-city of Leicester. Hope you enjoy!

Travel/Fashion | Holiday Lookbook: Devon, UK

Hello all!
I have recently returned from a week's holiday in Devon with my family. We rented a quaint holiday cottage in the village of Trusham, near Newton Abbot and Exeter. Although nothing glamorous, it was a lovely and relaxing way to spend my last week before A-Level results day (which will be the day this post goes live).
As I haven't yet written any outfit posts in the short life of this blog, I figured that as well as telling you about my travels, this would be a great opportunity for a Lookbook too. Hope you enjoy!

Beauty | Natural Collection: My New Favourite Drugstore Lipstick

Recently when shopping in Boot's I noticed the app had an offer for 100 bonus Advantage Card points upon purchasing any Natural Collection product. As I'd never tried any of their products before, and I'm a sucker for lipsticks, I decided to purchase a couple of their Moisture Shine Lipsticks. For £1.99 each with a 100 point bonus, I figured I couldn't go far wrong. I purchased the Biscuit and Cherry Red shades. And I really didn't go far wrong at all.

Fashion | Pins I Love #1: Dresses & Skirts

I'm just gonna come straight out with it - I love Pinterest. I could spend hours swept up in pretty pictures of gorgeous outfits, beautiful cities, adorable animals and really aesthetically pleasing food. So that led me to think, why not blog about it? I have a lot of Pinterest boards so this series will end up being split up into a fair few categories. But let's crack on with post #1 - skirts and dresses.

Entertainment | My Funko POP! Vinyl Collection

Anyone who read my Love/Hate Tag or my Get To Know Me post will know that I have a soft spot for Funko's POP! Vinyl figurines. I currently have 6 and my collection is constantly expanding. I find the products to be a fun and quirky twist on many of my favourite characters, and I feel the brand makes even the most detestable characters look adorable. So I thought I'd do a little round-up of my collection so far. I hope you enjoy it!

July Favourites

As July draws to its close (where has the time gone?!), I've decided to share you with my favourite things over the past month. There isn't any particular theme to this post, just a few bits and bobs I've enjoyed and appreciated during the month of July 2015.

Money | The Body Shop: Love Your Body

Hello readers! Welcome to the first of what I hope will grow into a series of loyalty card reviews. I personally am a sucker for loyalty cards and my purse is brimming with them.
Whilst it is often assumed that loyalty cards are completely pointless, I use them most times I go shopping and feel that I get so much back from them. A good example of this is The Body Shop's Love Your Body reward card scheme.

Homeware/Entertainment | Cool Prose Litographs

Recently, in Waterstones, I stumbled across a range of products entitled 'Litographs'. These make a wonderful gift for any book lovers with a bit of wall space to fill and are available for a range of classic novels.

Travel | Attraction Review: Waterworld, Stoke-on-Trent

A few days ago, some friends and I visited Waterworld in Stoke-on-Trent. Although I'd seen a few negative Trip Advisor reviews, we decided to give it a shot. After all, how bad could "the UK's No.1 Indoor Tropical Aqua Park" be?
The answer is not bad at all. Despite some reviews saying the park was only for young children, we (eighteen and nineteen year olds) had a brilliant day and were never stuck for something to do. The slides and rides, to me, seemed to appeal brilliantly to all ages.

Fashion | The Novelty Sock Tag

I feel I'm being rather brave inventing my own tag so early on in my blog's life but after a conversation on Twitter with Lauren and Hayley I felt inspired to do a post dedicated to my novelty sock collection.

Travel | London & Ed Sheeran

On Saturday, I was lucky enough to see Ed Sheeran play one of his Wembley Stadium shows. Before this, I spent the day in London, a city that is one of my favourites in the world. This post is the first in what I hope to be a series of Travel Diary 'entries' - I hope you enjoy it!

Life | Love/Hate Tag

Hello! Today I'm doing the Love/Hate tag, which I was nominated for by Kirsty at Natterly.co.uk. The idea of the tag is to list 10 things I love and 10 things I hate, then nominate 10 people to do the same.
So, in no particular order - here goes!

Homeware | Yankee Candle Haul

Recently, Yankee Candle's website had an offer on of 12 sampler votives for £12. As the sampler votives actually have the best burn time for their money and usually retail at £1.80 each, I jumped at the opportunity. Although it was a risky move buying these online, having sniffed only a few of them in stores, the descriptions on the website are always very accurate and the scents were all just what I had been told to expect

Fashion | Topshop Sales Haul

Last Thursday, I went into town to do some shopping and was delighted by Topshop's sale. There are some really lovely items to be found and here are the ones that I eventually decided on purchasing.

Life | First Post: 'Get To Know Me' Tag

As this is my first post, I thought I'd start by introducing myself a little bit, rather than launching right into the likes of product reviews and haul posts.
